How to properly dispose of power batteries after new energy vehicles are scrapped has long been a regulatory challenge in the industry. Issues such as retired batteries entering informal channels, environmental pollution caused by crude dismantling, and low resource recovery rates have constrained the healthy development of the industry. On April 1, 2026, the “Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Comprehensive Utilization of Used Power Batteries of New Energy Vehicles” was officially implemented. It innovatively established a “vehicle-battery integrated” scrapping system, specifying that scrapped new energy vehicles must carry their power batteries, while simultaneously standardizing the responsibilities of recycling entities, comprehensive utilization standards, and penalties for violations. This marks a new stage of standardized and law-based development in power battery recycling.

To accurately interpret the new regulations and promote policy implementation, the Guangdong Materials Circulation Association, jointly with the Battery Recycling Management and Monitoring Professional Committee of the Guangdong Environmental Monitoring Association, organized an online business training session on the “vehicle-battery integrated” scrapping policy for the scrapped motor vehicle recycling and dismantling industry in Guangdong Province. Our company’s General Manager, Assistant to the General Manager, and key personnel from various business segments including scrap vehicle recycling and dismantling participated in the training throughout.

During the training, the President of the Provincial Materials Circulation Association provided an in-depth analysis of the “vehicle-battery integrated” scrapping policy for new energy vehicles and proposed suggestions for optimizing business processes. The Secretary-General of the Association explained the standardization requirements for new energy vehicle dismantling in Guangdong Province’s scrapped motor vehicle recycling and dismantling industry. The Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Battery Recycling Management and Monitoring Professional Committee of the Guangdong Environmental Monitoring Association gave a comprehensive interpretation of the core provisions of the “Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Comprehensive Utilization of Used Power Batteries of New Energy Vehicles.” The three experts, grounded in practical industry needs, delivered professional instruction covering policy essentials, industry standards, and work requirements, helping trainees understand and effectively apply the policies to support sustainable business development through compliant operations.

After the training, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key practical issues such as hardware configuration for “vehicle-battery integrated” scrapping, process handling, and flow control of used power batteries, providing constructive suggestions for standardizing recycling business processes and optimizing disposal operations.

Through this specialized training, all participants gained a clearer and deeper understanding of the relevant policies, regulations, and industry standards, effectively enhancing their professional competence and compliance awareness. This laid a solid foundation for the standardized implementation and steady advancement of our company’s “vehicle-battery integrated” scrapping, recycling, and dismantling business for new energy vehicles.
